I had big plans for my day. I was going to get heaps of work done, clean the house, go to the gym and reply to some of the emails in my inbox. Then my daughter woke up.
I was having one of those days when I couldn't put her down or stop looking at her. I sat down on the couch and watched her facial expressions, watched her sleep and just held her close.
Before I knew it most of the day had gone and I couldn't think of a better way to spend it other than with my beautiful girl.
Absolutely nothing I needed to get done was done. I didn't do the huge pile of washing, I didn't make dinner, I didn't do any work, or make it to the gym. But I did something I needed to do more. I needed to appreciate and be grateful for my little girl.
Sometimes we just need some time to take a moment, stop and appreciate what we are so lucky to have. Sometimes we need to take a moment to take it all in.
Instead of worrying about what I didn't get done, we went out for dinner and all enjoyed time together. Everything I needed to do was still there waiting for me the next day when I was ready to do it.
