Happy Grandmother

I live in Queensland and was unable to travel to Melbourne due to sickness when my daughter had her beautiful daughter. I was very distressed,  not only about not being there for my daughter, but for missing the birth of my first grandchild.

I was on the phone with her constantly when she was in labour and a couple of hours after, when I was letting her get some rest, I got an email telling me to go to the Look@MyBaby website. I hadn't heard of this service, so I didn't know what to expect.

I put in the password and a picture of my granddaughter came up. I was instantly besotted with her..... And then I saw her move. I thought it was just a picture and my eyes were playing tricks on me, but it happened again. I burst into tears.

For the next 2 days, I kept checking in with my grand baby. I spent most of the time just watching her, with a box of tissues on hand. She was so like my daughter. I invited friends over to see her and we'd sit and watch her together. (I later realised I could have emailed link to friends, but didn't think of it.)

I am so grateful to Look@MyBaby for making me feel like I was part of it all and allowing me to get to know my granddaughter before I was able to physically get to her and my daughter. This is an experience I will never forget and every hospital should have Look@MyBaby.

Thank you Look@MyBaby. You have made me a very happy grandmother.
